Winter Photo Shoot in Jackson Hole, Wyoming

There is something undeniably magical about a Winter Photo Shoot in Jackson Hole — especially when it involves a mother, her daughter, and their closest friend escaping to the mountains for a snowy adventure.

These four planned the perfect winter getaway to Jackson Hole. Styled with cowboy hats, luxurious winter coats, the perfect boots, and a beautiful snowy scenery.

And I loved getting to capture fun photos like these.

We met at the Iconic Town Square in Jackson Hole. With the historic antler arches of Jackson Town Square and The Million Dollar Cowboy Bar in the background. Snow dusted the wooden boardwalks, the air was crisp, and their outfits were perfect for the setting. They all had several outfits, that we mixed and matched throughout the session.

As we made our way out of town, the weather shifted. What started as a soft snowfall turned into a full blizzard — and it was absolute magic.

We finished among towering pines near just inside The Grand Teton National Park, where snowflakes caught in their hair and coats and covered their hats, and the wind added movement you simply can’t recreate. Some of my favorite images are created when clients lean into the weather instead of running from it.

Tips for a Beautiful (and Warm) Winter Photo Session in Jackson Ho

Let’s be honest — it gets cold here. But that doesn’t mean you can’t be comfortable and stylish.

Here are my best tips for staying warm during your Winter Photo Session in Jackson Hole:

1. Invest in Statement Outerwear
Beautiful furs, structured wool coats, and textured layers photograph incredibly well — and they truly help hold in warmth.

2. Wear Proper Winter Boots
Insulated boots (that still feel elevated) are key. Cold feet can end a session quickly.

3. Layer Intentionally
Thermals under dresses. Tights under denim. Hand warmers in pockets. Smart layering changes everything.

4. Plan to Warm Up in the Car
We take short shooting bursts and warm up frequently. This keeps everyone comfortable and happy —

5. Don’t Fear the Snow
Some of my favorite images happen mid-storm. Snow adds depth, movement, and softness that no sunny summer evening can replicate.

Why You Should Schedule While Winter Is Here

I know winter has been off to a slower start this year, but that just means we need to plan something beautiful while it’s here. Snow sessions are limited, fleeting, and entirely dependent on Mother Nature.

If you’re planning a girls’ getaway, a mother-daughter trip, or a luxury weekend in Jackson Hole — documenting it with a winter session turns memories into treasured keepsakes.

Here are some of my favorite winter sessions in Jackson Hole! Tatiana and Juan, we have done two sessions in the winter, and they are some of my favorite photos! You can see them here and here!
