Surprise Proposal & Engagement Session in Logan
Engagement stories are especially sweet—I am so lucky to be a Logan Utah Wedding Photographer. I loved hearing how Jesse proposed to Bailey.
Jesse and Bailey traveled home for what Bailey believed was their annual ski trip and Jesse’s birthday celebration. Living in San Francisco, winter trips back to Utah are a tradition they look forward to each year. What Bailey didn’t know was that Jesse had been planning something special.
When they checked into their Airbnb overlooking Powder Mountain in Ogden Canyon, Jesse surprised Bailey with a beautiful proposal. With the help of both of their brothers, Jesse pulled off the best surprise. Surrounded by breathtaking canyon views in a quiet winter moment, Jesse surprised Bailey, and she said yes.
From Proposal to Engagement Photos in Logan
To celebrate their engagement before their upcoming engagement party, Bailey’s mom arranged an engagement session that same weekend. It was such a meaningful way to mark this season—newly engaged, and surrounded by family and friends.
For their engagement photos, we met at one of my favorite locations in Logan, a beautiful setting that offered soft winter tones, open views, and an unexpectedly warm feel for February. As a Logan Utah Wedding Photographer, I love how Logan provides a timeless backdrop that works beautifully year-round.
February Light That Felt Like Spring
People often overlook February for engagement photos, but this session highlights how magical winter light can be. With minimal snow and the warmest, most golden February light I’ve ever photographed, you’d never guess this session took place in winter.
Classic Style That Never Dates
Jesse and Bailey chose classic, timeless outfits that were perfect for their session in Logan. Neutral tones and clean silhouettes photographed beautifully against the winter landscape and will feel just as elegant years from now. They chose a refined, effortless look that felt completely true to them.
Why February Is Perfect for Proposals & Wedding Planning
February is such a popular month for proposals and wedding planning. Engagement season is in full swing, vendor calendars are filling quickly.
If you’re newly engaged, this is the perfect time to take the next step.
Tips for Booking Your Photographer After Getting Engaged
If you’ve just said yes, here are a few helpful tips as you begin booking your wedding photographer:
1. Book Early
Many wedding photographers book 9–18 months in advance, especially for peak dates and destination weddings.
2. Look Beyond Highlight Images
Review full galleries to ensure consistency in lighting, editing, and storytelling.
3. Choose Someone You Connect With
You’ll spend more time with your photographer than almost any other vendor—comfort matters.
4. Ask About Engagement Sessions
Engagement sessions help you feel relaxed in front of the camera and build trust before the wedding day. They are the perfect way to start preparing and it will help you feel more comfortable taking photos. More engagement inspiration here.
5. Prioritize Timeless Photography
Trends come and go. As an experienced Logan Utah Wedding Photographer I focus on beautiful light, clean edits and timeless photos that you can look back on for generations without wondering.. what was I thinking?
