An Intimate Grand Teton National Park Elopement at Mountain View Turnout
There is something incredibly special about photographing an elopement. I truly love the honor of capturing something so intimate. As an elopement photographer in Teton National Park, I feel deeply grateful to document days like this one—intentional, heartfelt, and filled with so much love.
This sweet couple chose to elope at Mountain View Turnout, surrounded by their closest family members. The light on the Tetons truly showed off during their ceremony, creating the most amazing backdrop. Their style was classic, and every detail perfectly complemented the landscape. The bride wore a stunning gown from BHLDN, timeless and elegant, while the groom’s look felt equally refined. Together, they were a perfect match for a summer wedding in the mountains.
Before their ceremony, the couple shared a quiet first look at String Lake. This is one of my favorite locations for intimate moments like this, with soft light, calm water, and the Tetons reflected behind you. It was the perfect way for them to begin their wedding day—just the two of them, fully present.
After the ceremony, everyone gathered for an intimate wedding dinner at a private residence at 3C Ranch. Chef Renee prepared the most delightful meal for the couple and their family, with each course thoughtfully crafted and beautifully served. One of my favorite details was that the bride created her own handwritten name tags, adding such a personal and heartfelt touch to the table. It was the kind of day you never want to end, and truly one of my favorite weddings to photograph.
How to Get a Permit to Elope in Teton National Park
If you’re planning an elopement in Grand Teton National Park, a wedding permit is required. Couples must apply for a Special Use Permit through the National Park Service. The application is submitted online and should be completed well in advance, as locations are limited and dates can fill quickly—especially during the summer months. Once approved, you’ll receive guidelines regarding guest count, approved locations, and park regulations to help protect this incredible landscape for generations to come.
As an intimate elopement photographer and artistic film photographer, I help my couples navigate the planning process—from choosing meaningful locations to creating a relaxed, intentional timeline. This summer elopement was a beautiful reminder that weddings don’t need to be large to be incredibly meaningful. Sometimes, all you need is the Tetons, your closest people, and a love worth celebrating.
