A Tulip Field Dream | Cache Valley Family Photographer
As a Cache Valley family photographer, I’m always on the lookout for beautiful, new locations to photograph families.
Three years ago, we purchased the dreamiest piece of land—with stunning views of the Wellsvilles. From the beginning, I envisioned creating little pockets of beauty where I could take portraits, and slowly, that dream has started to take shape.
Last fall, I had a wild idea: plant 1,400 tulip and daffodil bulbs. I didn’t have much time, but I had a vision. A good friend helped me plant them, and it ended up taking far longer than I expected. The ground was mostly frozen, so we dug shallow trenches—almost like little graves—and carefully scattered in the bulbs. I just wanted to get as many in the ground as possible before winter fully set in.
All winter, I waited. When the snow melted, I checked the field weekly. The moment I saw that first green shoot pushing through the soil, I was giddy. Watching the tulips grow and bloom was magical. It felt like my vision was truly coming to life.
This spring, I hosted my very first sessions in the tulip field—and it was everything I dreamed it would be.
The Hancock family was one of the first to trust my vision. Their little girl wore the sweetest gingham dress, and I’m still obsessed with the subtle floral print on Mom’s dress from Roolee. Everything came together beautifully.
